Chevrolet introduced a new ‘Advanced Design’ line of trucks in the summer of 1947. These 1948 Chevrolets represented an all new look for Chevy light duty trucks that continued, relatively unchanged, through the 1954 models.
Standard equipment for 1948 included a heater and defroster, a luxury in those days. The cab was enlarged by eight inches and was seven inches taller, making seating for three a reality. Notably, the 2003 Chevrolet SSR has a retro look similar to the 1948 models.
