Porsche Penske Motorsport Preps for Le Mans with Successful Test Day

Porsche Penske Motorsport has wrapped up its preparations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a successful test day at the Circuit des 24 Heures. The three Porsche 963 cars, fielded by the works team, completed 196 laps, covering a total of 2,671 kilometers despite interruptions due to red flags. The fastest lap was clocked by Kévin Estre at 3:26.807 minutes.

Director Factory Racing LMDh, Urs Kuratle, praised the team’s efforts and seamless integration of the third Porsche 963 from the USA. Managing Director Jonathan Diuguid highlighted the thorough testing of brakes, tires, and setup variations.

Customer teams Hertz Team Jota and Proton Competition also had productive sessions, with the No. 38 car, driven by Jenson Button, covering the longest distance of 967 kilometers. In the LMGT3 class, the Porsche 911 GT3 R racers completed 125 laps.

The 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans starts on Saturday, June 15, at 4 pm. The race will be broadcast in Germany on Nitro and Eurosport, with live streaming available via the FIA WEC and Le Mans organiser ACO apps, and audio streaming on Radio Le Mans.

Drivers and team principals expressed optimism, noting smooth test sessions and strong performances. The team looks forward to a competitive race week at this iconic motorsport event.
