Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) is set to impress at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with a display of its supercars, featuring the debut of the track-only T.50s Niki Lauda prototype.
The spotlight will be on the GMA T.50s Niki Lauda ‘Fan Car’, a track-only marvel weighing under 900 kg and capable of generating 1200 kg of downforce with its 1,758 mm-wide delta wing. With a 772 PS engine revving up to 12,100 rpm, this £3.1m (plus taxes) car is engineered for an unparalleled driving experience.
Joining the T.50s will be the road-going T.50, renowned as the most driver-focused supercar ever. Weighing just 997 kg, it boasts a 670 PS V12 engine that revs to 12,100 rpm and delivers cutting-edge aerodynamics. Also on display will be the elegant GMA T.33 coupe, inspired by the classic designs of the 1960s and optimized for everyday use with an aerodynamic performance 30% more efficient than traditional ground-effect supercars.
In addition, there will be a special celebration of GMA founder Professor Gordon Murray CBE at the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC), featuring a display from his personal heritage collection. Highlights include:
- 1956 Maserati Motorbike: Gordon Murray’s first motorcycle, rebuilt by him at age 16.
- 1967 IGM Ford (T.1): Murray’s first race car, built and raced in South Africa.
- 1974 Brabham BT44 (T.6): Murray’s first Formula 1 design and his first F1 victory car.
- T.50 Mule Vehicle – ‘George’: The test vehicle for the T.50 and T.33, crucial in early development.
The T.50 was named ‘Hypercar of the Year’ in the 2023 BBC Top Gear Awards, reaffirming GMA’s commitment to creating the purest, lightest, and most driver-centric cars ever.
Phil Lee, Group CEO of GMA, expressed excitement about showcasing their collection: “Festival of Speed is a fantastic opportunity to meet our customers and fans, experiencing the GMA V12 in a wonderful atmosphere for car enthusiasts.”
