Everrati Signature Electric Porsche 911 (964)

Everrati Signature – The 500hp Electric Porsche 911 (964)

Everrati Automotive Limited (Everrati), a leading technology company specialising in the redefining and futureproofing of automotive icons through the integration of the very latest electric vehicle (EV) powertrains, has today unveiled a new, flagship, 500bhp, ‘Signature’ wide body model.

The car, revealed today, is based upon a fully restored 1991 Porsche 911 964. It features carbon fibre body elements and a state-of-the-art EV powertrain capable of delivering an electric, emission-free driving range of more than 150 miles and sub-4-second 0-62mph acceleration. Following an intensive test and development programme, the Everrati ‘Signature’ wide body model will be finished to concours standards and offered to customers as part of the company’s extensive portfolio of restored, remastered and electrified automotive icons.

“When we launched Everratiin 2019, it was our mission to create the most desirable, technically advanced, sustainable, zero-emission iconic cars in the world,” explains Justin Lunny, Founder & CEO of Everrati Automotive Limited. “To fulfil that vision, and to provide discerning customers with a peerless product engineered with industry-leading technology, rigour and attention to detail, we assembled an elite engineering team from OEM, supercar, motorsport, aerospace and EV technology backgrounds.”

“We believe that it is the very DNA of a car that makes it iconic and that such cars must be preserved for future generations – not be placed in a museum, but to drive. We take some of the world’s most beautiful and seminal cars, restore and re-engineer them, always operating with full respect for the brands that created them. Using modern engineering techniques and integrating advanced EV powertrains, we further enhance each car’s performance, yet ensuring they have a similar driving ‘feel’ with weight distribution – and overall weight – mirroring that of the original, enabling automotive icons like the Porsche 911 (964) to be reborn for the coming age of zero-emission mobility, yet with soul intact.”

Back to basics

As with every Everratiproject, the ‘Signature’ wide body began with a solid, accident-free example of a Porsche 911 (964) to provide the basis for restoration and modification. The first stage of the car’s metamorphosis was a careful disassembly back to its bare monocoque chassis. All bodywork, powertrain and interior components were removed from the car.

At Everrati™, it is sacrosanct that all engineering is reversible, should current or future owners want to revert back to the car’s factory specification,” explains Nick Williams, Everrati™ Founder and COO, who previously held senior roles with Daimler and the Volkswagen Group. “If customers wish, the car’s original internal combustion engine and transmission can be refurbished and placed in storage, or even incorporated into a piece of art, such as a glass gable or Perspex box.  Whatever the customer can imagine, we will do our utmost to make it a reality.”

Following a complete strip-down, the monocoque chassis is water-blasted back to its bare zinc coating and inspected and treated for rust prevention, if required. To ensure adherence to Everrati™’s core pillars of safety and structural integrity, the monocoque is seam-welded, strengthened and refabricated to better-than-new standards.

Carbon recreation

To create the wide body, Everrati™ replaces the steel front and rear wings and bonnet with custom produced carbon fibre parts. The same material is also used for the doors, although these are reinforced with high strength steel to retain side impact protection. A carbon fibre roof is offered, along with the choice of a steel item for customers who wish to retain a sunroof where fitted to their car. The front and rear bumpers are refitted with genuine Porsche wide body items, to which RS Cup air vents are added.

“We work in close collaboration with leading Porsche 911 specialists and carbon fibre manufacturers in the UK and use only exceptionally strong and lightweight carbon fibre components manufactured to motorsport specification in an aerospace environment,” reveals Williams. The carbon fibre bodywork is constructed using a premium resin-infused closed mould process to ensure very high quality and strength coupled with low weight. Then we apply world-class body preparation and painting processes to produce flawless paint finishes.

Thanks to this high-tech and meticulous approach to weight saving, the ‘Signature’ wide body weighs less than the original Porsche 911 (964) Coupe on which it is based.

Futureproof power

A key part of the meticulous, sympathetic restoration and re-engineering process is the integration of the car’s new, sustainable-focussed heart – the electric propulsion system. “We install a state-of-the-art EV powertrain, which has its power delivery optimised specifically for the ‘Signature’ wide body and is coupled to a 53kWh battery pack and battery management system,” explains Everrati™ Director of Engineering, Mike Kerr, who previously held senior roles with Lotus and McLaren.

“One of the values that attracted me to Everrati™ was the obsessive level of detail the company goes to ensure that its EV technology is integrated sympathetically, and in a manner totally in keeping with the true spirit of the original car and its manufacturer,” continues Kerr. “But there’s more to it than that. The transformation to electric power also involves the optimisation of weight distribution, chassis response and safety to enhance the performance of the original, reinvigorate its character and soul.”

Zero tailpipe emissions, maximum performance

Sending 500bhp to the rear wheels, the new Everrati ‘Signature’ wide body redefined Porsche 911 has more than double the power output of an original 1990’s Porsche 964. With 500 Nm delivered instantly, the car can accelerate to 62mph in less than four seconds.

The blistering acceleration is accompanied by a 150+ mile range, dependant on driving style. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 10 per cent to 100 per cent in less than an hour, at the cost of just £8.21.

Spellbinding handling

The Everrati engineering and test teams have set the highest possible standards to enable the ‘Signature’ wide body model’s chassis to accommodate the significant step-up in performance the electric powertrain brings, and to elevate the driving experience to a higher plane.

Former British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) Champion and Porsche Carrera Cup Driver’s Champion, Tim Harvey, has supported much of the car’s development.
With 35 wins and more than 150 podiums at the wheel of a 911, Harvey is one of the most successful Porsche racers ever and relishes his role as Everrati test driver.

“The latest car is a fantastic project to be involved with. I have owned and raced many Porsches, and having the chance to be involved with the rebirth of this true icon is a privilege,” says Harvey. “The ‘Signature’ wide body has the essence of an iconic 911, in terms of its rear-biased weight distribution and the ‘feel’ of its controls, brought right up to date thanks to the incredible performance from its electric powertrain. In this way, it is great to think that future generations will still be able to enjoy the 964 in an era of zero-emission mobility.”

Everrati retains the car’s aluminium rear trailing suspension arms, which are refurbished to new, with all bushes and drop-links fully uprated. Customers are offered a choice of two suspensions settings. The ‘standard’ suspension features fully adjustable motorsport-grade coil-over spring & damper units. It provides a compliant, quiet and comfortable ride on the road while still offering superb control during more dynamic driving. The optional, fully adjustable suspension package features adaptive dampers by Tractive, providing even more sporting focussed levels of control and driver feedback. It features a fully programmable and customisable five-driver-mode set-up, controlled from within the cockpit via a touch screen.

Optimum stopping power

Naturally, the car’s EV powertrain provides regenerative braking when the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal. The driver can adjust the level of regenerative braking force available to enable one-pedal driving. The uprated mechanical braking system features fully renewed Brembo Porsche callipers with new drilled, ventilated discs all around. An optional, even more powerful braking system is also offered, featuring larger Brembo callipers front and rear.

A range of 17” and 18” wheels and colour finishes are available to suit customer requirements.

Creature comforts

The exquisitely finished cabin can be personalised to customers’ individual tastes in numerous ways, thanks to a wide range of optional materials and fittings. Everrati re-instals original Porsche seats, which are significantly enhanced for comfort and replicate the look of the original RS Touring Seats.  All have four-way electrical adjustment and manual recline and tilt functions. Optional Carbon RS seats provide an even more sporting ambience. Upholstery can be optioned in leather, alcantara, or other materials and in a wide choice of colours and optional finishes and textures.

Numerous further highlights of the interior include the installation of a custom-designed heating and air conditioning system. In addition, a modern Porsche Classic Communications Management with full touch screen navigation, DAB+,  Bluetooth®, Apple Car Play™is added. All of the car’s traditional gauges are replaced with Porsche-inspired EV gauges, and as with the internal combustion engine and transmission components, the original gauges can be retained for the customer on request.

Over the coming months, the ‘Signature’ wide body will continue to undergo its full development programme. A small number of Signature commissions are available to order now for delivery in late 2021. Prices for each commission begin at £250,000 plus relevant taxes, based on a
customer-supplied donor car.
