Originally launched in 1981, the DeLorean DMC-12 gained fame for its futuristic design and unique gullwing doors, but its performance was hampered by a modest 130hp V6 engine. Electrogenic’s revolutionary conversion addresses this flaw with a ‘plug and play’ EV kit that replaces the outdated engine with a high-performance electric motor, delivering nearly 220hp. This upgrade slashes the 0-60mph time from over 10 seconds to under 5 seconds, bringing the DMC-12 closer to its sci-fi aspirations.
The conversion features a 43kW battery pack, located where the fuel tank once was, and integrates the latest CCS rapid charging technology.
