The DS 7 VAUBAN is a specially protected vehicle based on the DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 300, designed to offer maximum safety and first-class comfort. With a length of 4.59 meters, it features aramids, high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers, armored steel, and safety glass, achieving a VPAM 4 protection level against handguns. Despite its reinforced structure, the vehicle maintains excellent handling, with only 164 kg of additional weight.
The DS 7 VAUBAN offers braking distances equivalent to the DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 300, and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is only 0.2 seconds slower, at 6.1 seconds. It retains the same qualities in handling, thanks to the DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION system, and maintains a 10.45 m turning circle, a benchmark in the premium SUV segment.
One of the unique aspects of the DS 7 VAUBAN is that it requires only a regular driving license, unlike many competitors that require a heavy goods vehicle license and special training. Starting at €165,000, it is competitively priced and classified as “intensive use” for maintenance, which can be carried out within the certified DS STORES network.
The interior of the DS 7 VAUBAN is meticulously crafted by upholsterers to ensure top-tier refinement. Unique features include Vauban interior embossing and special controls. Additional equipment and options are available for enhanced protection, passenger comfort, and vehicle personalization.
Built entirely in France, the DS 7 VAUBAN results from a collaboration between the WELP Group and DS Automobiles. It is assembled at the Mulhouse site and then converted by WELP France in Hérimoncourt. The vehicle is named after the 17th-century fortifications designed by the Marquis Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, a testament to its robust and protective capabilities.
The first DS 7 VAUBAN has been completed, with homologation scheduled for June and sales to follow shortly after.
