Bugatti Chiron Super Sport – World Premiere At The Milano Monza Motor Show

A long, elegant rear streamlined bodywork – and a unique combination of comfort and top speed. With its digital unveiling of the Chiron Super Sport1 just a few days ago, Bugatti presented its idea of an elegant, comfortable, and top-performing hyper sports car. Visitors and fans of the French luxury brand can now experience the fastest member of the Chiron2 family for real for the first time at the Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show.

The Chiron Super Sport stands for comfort and luxury coupled with even more performance and higher speeds. With its 8.0-liter W16 engine, the grand tourer with output of 1,600 PS can hit a top speed of 440 km/h. At the same time, the Chiron Super Sport represents the longitudinal dynamics part of Bugatti’s spectrum of performance – a counterpart to the Chiron Pur Sport3, which was made for lateral agility.

This will also mark the first public appearance of the Bolide4, an experimental vehicle which Bugatti unveiled digitally in fall 2020 before delivering it to a long-standing Bugatti customer shortly after. The extreme, racetrack-focused hyper sports car with a power-to-weight ratio of just 0.67 kg/PS delivers up to 1,850 PS and weighs are mere 1,240 kilograms. Bugatti developed the Bolide around the W16 power train and with minimal bodywork – for incredible performance data.

What makes the Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show special is that, in addition to the vehicles’ static presentation, the Chiron Super Sport and the Bolide drive through the streets of Milan in the Premiere Parade, showcasing themselves dynamically for the very first time like on a catwalk.

Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann was behind the wheel of the new Chiron Super Sport in the parade on Thursday evening and presented the new vehicle to the enthusiastic crowds by Milan Cathedral. “It feels fantastic to be presenting the new Chiron Super Sport live,” says Stephan Winkelmann. “Showcasing a new model in Ettore Bugatti’s birthplace is very meaningful to me. The Chiron Super Sport looks perfect in this setting of the Piazza del Duomo, and the famous Monza racetrack is nearby, too, even if it can’t show off its full potential there.”

The Milano Monza Motor Show (MIMO) will run from June 10 to 13, 2021, as an open-air event for the first time in collaboration with the region of Lombardy and the cities of Milan and Monza, and will be presenting the new models of over 50 participating automobile and motorcycle manufacturers. In addition to the new Chiron Super Sport and the Bolide, Bugatti will present the full bandwidth of the Chiron family with a Chiron Pur Sport and a Chiron Sport.
