At the end of 2021, Cupra launched the VZ5, the spectacular top model of the popular bestseller Formentor, limited to 7,000 units. Under its bonnet sits the fabulous five-cylinder turbo engine from Audi. It provides thrilling propulsion in several RS models.
The Cupra Formentor is now the first model series outside the Ingolstadt portfolio to have the honour of owning this engine. As a powerful top model, it naturally suggests itself to car and tuning enthusiasts for individualisation and optimisation. And so it has now served MANHART Performance as the basis for its latest creation: the CP 500.
The 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine delivers 390 hp and 480 Nm of maximum torque ex works. Of course, this did not stop the Wuppertal specialists from giving the dynamic crossover SUV a further boost in terms of performance: On the one hand, they installed their proven MANHART MHtronik auxiliary control unit and, on the other, a MANHART intercooler by Wagner. This results in a whopping 490 hp and up to 630 Nm of torque! Of course, a MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve control could not be missing either. Compared to the standard version, it offers a more classic look with two diagonally offset bronze-coloured tailpipes on each side, each with a large titanium grey tailpipe.
While the brake system, which can be individually configured on request, remains in its factory condition in this case, the CP 500 shows itself to have been very well revised on the chassis side. MANHART carried out an optimisation and installed MANHART lowering springs by H&R. These lowered the body of the car. These lower the body by 35 millimetres at the front and 30 millimetres at the rear.
Last but not least, the new wheel/tyre combinations stand perfectly in their dwellings: MANHART Concave One rims in 9×20 inch ET35 with 255/35ZR20 tyres. They feature five double spokes and a finish in satin black with gold rim decoration. Alternatively, MANHART also offers various other colours. Further golden accents are set by the appropriately coloured lettering and trim strips of the characteristic MANHART decal set applied to the black bodywork. Last but not least, the interior also remains in its standard condition, but individual refinements are also possible in this respect if required.
