BRABUS XL 800: The Ultimate Off-Road Supercar

Imagine a vehicle that effortlessly glides down the most glamorous city streets, yet can conquer the wildest, most challenging terrains with ease. This isn’t a fantasy; it’s the reality of the BRABUS XL 800, a new superlative off-road supercar now presented by BRABUS. This isn’t just another modified SUV; it’s a meticulously engineered masterpiece, built on the current Mercedes-AMG G 63. Its unique features truly set it apart.

Engineering for Extreme Off-Roading

The BRABUS XL 800 was developed with maximum off-road capabilities as the top priority. Engineers focused on creating tremendous ground clearance. They also designed for extremely helpful maximum axle articulation. This led to the development of special portal axles. The front axle features a completely new independent suspension. You can immediately identify it by its distinctive gray color. Components like the integral support and suspension links are CNC produced.

Unmatched Ground Clearance

The custom-designed BRABUS chassis with portal axles gives this vehicle a tremendous ground clearance. It stands at an impressive 47 centimeters, or 18.5 inches. This height makes the BRABUS XL 800 a superior off-road talent. The rear axle retains its rigid design. However, it boasts many redesigned parts for the portal axle system. These include a reinforced axle housing. All suspension links are also new.

Dynamic Ride Control

The new suspension geometry vastly improves off-road capabilities. BRABUS created a tailor-made variant of its innovative Ride Control coilover suspension. This system is specifically for this heavy-duty off-road chassis. Its damping rate was custom-tailored to the increased ground clearance. Drivers can control the suspension from inside the cockpit. They use the stock suspension adjustment feature of the G-Class. The titanium-coated BRABUS aluminum suspension is also height-adjustable.

Power That Dominates Any Terrain

The BRABUS XL 800 houses a BRABUS twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine. This high-performance engine produces a staggering 588 kW, or 800 hp. It also delivers a peak torque of 1,000 Nm, or 737 lb-ft. This immense power is available at a low 3,600 rpm. The new supercar sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph) due to the off-road tires.

Engineered for Performance

To achieve this level of performance, BRABUS developed two high-performance turbochargers. These feature special core assemblies and reinforced axial bearings. Larger compressor units were also incorporated. Extensive testing ensured optimal results. BRABUS tested on state-of-the-art test benches and public roads. They also tested in varied terrain. This helped program new maps for injection and ignition. Boost pressure increased to 1.6 bar. High-tech lubricants from Motul ensure optimal lubrication.

Unmistakable Visual Presence

The BRABUS XL 800 visually impresses with its thrilling design. It features high-gloss WIDESTAR exposed-structure carbon bodywork components. These include particularly wide exposed-structure carbon fenders at both front and rear. This complements the king-sized tire and wheel combination. The BRABUS front fascia is made from this high-tech composite material. It seamlessly joins the BRABUS fenders. This fascia also optimally integrates a winch with a 4,500 kg line pull.

Accessible Luxury

Getting in and out of this off-road supercar is safe and easy. Special power-retractable BRABUS steps are present. This is due to the extremely lofty entrance height. The thrilling BRABUS One-Second-Wow effect comes from the rear view. It features a special carbon fascia. A carbon trim panel for the rear-end door sports the supercar dream factory logotype. Active Sound Management

A key strong point of this exhaust system is its active sound management. Depending on your selected drive mode, the V8 responds differently. It can whisper in the subtle “Coming Home” mode.
