Aston Martin is officially back on the top tier of endurance racing. With the Valkyrie AMR-LMH now hitting the track, the marque is one step closer to its long-awaited return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Developed in partnership with The Heart of Racing, this latest evolution of the Valkyrie hypercar marks a significant moment in the brand’s motorsport legacy.
A True Le Mans Hypercar
Built to conform with ACO/FIA Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) regulations, the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is no longer just a technical concept, it’s a fully realised contender. Extensive testing is now underway in the UK and across Europe, with the goal of competing in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Aston Martin and The Heart of Racing also plan to enter the car in IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in North America.
Race-Optimised Performance
At the core of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine developed by Cosworth. This bespoke unit produces 520 kW of power and uses a dry sump oil system and race-optimised exhaust. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential transmission with paddle shift and a mechanical limited-slip differential. A carbon/carbon multi-plate clutch and electric pit-lane pull-away starter motor ensure seamless performance under race conditions.
Precision Engineering from Track to Tarmac
The chassis features a carbon monocoque survival cell and high-speed pneumatic jacks, providing both rigidity and quick serviceability. Braking is handled by bespoke six-pot calipers at the front and rear, with carbon/carbon discs and pads for uncompromising stopping power. The suspension system is a pushrod-actuated double wishbone setup with adjustable dampers and torsion bars, tailored specifically for track-day and endurance use.
Designed for Endurance
Rolling on forged aluminium wheels (12.5” x 18” front, 14.0” x 18” rear) wrapped in bespoke 18-inch Pirelli track tyres, the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is engineered for maximum grip and control. The aerodynamic package includes a Venturi tunnel underbody, adjustable front wing flaps (AAD), and two-element front and rear wings, delivering downforce and balance compliant with LMH homologation criteria. Quick-change body panels, integrated rain lights, and high-output front lighting optimise the car for endurance racing conditions.
Purpose-Built Cockpit
Inside, the cockpit is designed for ultimate focus and safety. A custom carbon fibre race seat with full support, a six-point FIA harness, fire extinguisher system, and integrated rear-view camera provide everything needed for long-distance racing. The ultra-lightweight steering wheel features integrated display and shift lights, combining form and function.
Ready for the Challenge Ahead
Weighing in at ≤1030 kg (excluding driver and fuel), the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is the most extreme expression of Aston Martin’s performance potential. With testing intensifying and eyes firmly set on the 2025 racing season, the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is not just a technological marvel ,it’s a symbol of Aston Martin’s enduring racing spirit.
Estimated value: £3 million (approx.).
