1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S: Iconic Supercar Hits the Auction Block

Developed in the early 1960s and produced from 1964 to 1966, the Lamborghini 350 GT was a bold debut for the Italian marque, following the 350 GTV prototype. However, the Miura, introduced in 1966, truly redefined the sports car landscape with its groundbreaking design and performance.

The Miura, conceived by a seven-man team of Italy’s top engineers including Giam Paolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani, became the world’s first production supercar. It was unveiled in rolling chassis form at the 1965 Turin Motor Show and formally revealed at the 1966 Geneva Salon, captivating audiences with its innovative design and exceptional performance.

Named after the fierce bulls bred by Don Eduardo Miura, the Miura P400 S introduced in 1968 featured enhanced handling and performance. This model, which succeeded the LP400, boasted a 3.9L V12 engine, producing 370 HP, improved suspension, and updated braking systems. With only 338 units produced, it remains a rare and revered classic.

The 1969 Miura P400 S, chassis No. 3919, underwent a concours-level restoration completed in 2008 by Bobileff Motorcar Company. It features a Verde Miura/Pistachio exterior, blue interior, and a host of meticulous restorations including rebuilt carburetors and recent drivetrain servicing.
