1939 Buick Roadmaster Series 80 Phaeton

Buick’s styling for 1939 was “streamlined” with a new waterfall grille, a narrower hood, thinner front door pillars and an increase in glass area. The gear shift was mounted on the steering column, the radio was operated by push buttons, turn signals were standard (an industry first) and all of the instrumentation was placed in front of the driver.

This car is a Buick Roadmaster Series 80 Phaeton equipped with optional side mount spare tires and a leather interior. Buick sales for 1939 totaled 197,324 of which 311 were Series 80 Phaetons.
