Cyan Racing, the six-time world touring car champion team, has unveiled a new GT version of the Volvo P1800 Cyan. This latest iteration, introduced in February 2024, marks an exciting evolution of the iconic sports car.
Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan, stated, “The new GT version exemplifies the versatility of the Volvo P1800 Cyan, offering a wealth of customization options. The process of tailoring each car to our clients’ specifications is immensely rewarding for our team.”
The Volvo P1800 Cyan, originally launched in 2020 as a track-inspired homage to the classic sixties model, now features a grand tourer design. The GT version boasts Cyan’s fully adjustable suspension, fine-tuned for both spirited country roads and comfortable long-distance journeys.
Under the hood, the car is equipped with a two-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, optimized for drivability and performance. Clients can choose from engine configurations delivering 350hp or 420hp, with the high-strength steel and carbon fibre body maintaining a weight under 1000kg. A bespoke five-speed Holinger gearbox ensures precise handling and driving pleasure.
One of the initial GT models, completed for a US client, features a distinctive metallic green finish and a sand-colored leather and fabric interior. Custom touches include touring-friendly seats, enhanced sound insulation, and a specially designed titanium roll cage that provides increased comfort without sacrificing safety or chassis rigidity.
Each Volvo P1800 Cyan is meticulously restored and modified at Cyan’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the entire process taking approximately 12-15 months per vehicle.
