After kickstarting the year with a double win at the prestigious What Car? Awards, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has celebrated one of its most successful awards year ever, scooping a record-breaking 26 accolades across its vehicle range.
Leading the charge, the all-electric ID. Buzz was presented with an incredible 16 awards, after receiving praise across the board for its practicality, iconic design and cutting-edge technology.
At the start of the year, ID. Buzz was crowned What Car? Car of the Year 2023 – with judges praising its space, refinement and technology as reasons it took home the trophy.
In line with the Volkswagen Group’s commitment to sustainability, the Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence (EVIEs) Awards named the company ‘OEM of the Year’ for its complete ID. Range, with the ID. Buzz celebrated for its strong credentials in the commercial vehicle and business fleet sector.
The ID. Buzz Cargo collected another award when it was crowned Best Commercial Electric Vehicle at the Fully Charged AWARDS 2024. Voted for by the general public online, the Fully Charged AWARDS reflect consumers’ buying habits across Europe, with the prize handed over at an awards ceremony at the RAI Amsterdam.
More electric accolades followed, when the ID. Buzz Cargo was named the Electric Van of the Year at the 2024 Electrifying.com Awards, citing its practicality and high-quality cabin all as reasons why it is the head of the class.
Adding yet more silverware to its cabinet, the ID. Buzz retained its ‘Best Van-Based MPV’ trophy at the 2024 What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards, with judges commending its abilities for both van drivers and fleet buyers alike.
These awards were hot on the heels of another double win at the What Van? 2024 Awards, where the new Amarok collected a joint award for ‘Pick up of the Year’ thanks to its large cargo bay, and comfortable and spacious interior. The Transporter, meanwhile, was named ‘Used Van of the Year’, with judges noting its extensive driver assist features and large variety of options available.
During the ceremony, the Amarok received the trophy for the ‘International Pick Up Award’. This is the third time that the International Van of the Year committee has awarded Volkswagen’s premium pick-up the accolade, having crowned it the winner in 2011 and 2017.
A trip to the Car Dealer Awards – hosted by Mr Wheeler Dealer, Mike Brewer – saw the Volkswagen Transporter pick up ‘Used Commercial Vehicle of the Year’.
Before then, the Volkswagen Multivan was awarded ‘Adventurer’s Choice’ at the Carwow ‘Car of The Year’ Award 2024, thanks to its flexibility for famillies and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
