The All-Carbon 1969 Trick Rides Mustang “Scorched” Rewrites Restomod History

Trick Rides Scorched Mustang

Trick Rides Scorched Mustang fuses vintage muscle with modern innovation, redefining what a restomod can achieve. Revealed at the 2025 SEMA Show, the all-carbon 1969 Mustang “Scorched” showcases precision craftsmanship and performance wrapped in American heritage.

A Carbon-Fiber Revolution

Every inch of Scorched reflects meticulous engineering. Built over 8,000 hours inside Trick Rides’ 31,000-square-foot workshop in Oklahoma, the project uses aerospace-grade pre-preg carbon fiber supplied by Brothers Carbon. This advanced material delivers superior strength, weight reduction and consistency, setting Scorched apart as the first all-carbon Mustang of its kind.

Each body panel was digitally modeled using CAD design before being hand-finished and fitted with exacting precision. The result is a sleek, muscular profile that honors the original 1969 Mustang’s form while elevating it with modern aerodynamics and detail.

Interior Design Crafted with Purpose

Inside, Trick Rides collaborated with TMI Products to create a bespoke cabin featuring TMI’s latest high-back seating. The design balances comfort and style, supported by handcrafted panels, square-weave carpeting and a custom center console. AutoMeter gauges complete the modernized cockpit, blending nostalgia with functionality.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, Scorched packs a 429 cubic-inch Kaase Boss Nine V8, an engine synonymous with big-block power. Mated to a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual, it channels raw muscle through a custom Stainless Works exhaust system and MagnaFlow mufflers. The mechanical symphony is as commanding as the visuals.

To match its performance credentials, the Mustang rides on a Roadster Shop chassis with independent front suspension and Fox coilovers. At the rear, a parallel four-link layout ensures balanced handling and grip, supported by Roadster Shop sway bars and Baer six-piston front brakes. Forgeline three-piece wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Force tires provide control and style in equal measure.

Exterior Excellence

Finished in “Sinister Black,” Scorched features flush-mounted glass, billet aluminum mirrors, and custom Ringbrothers hardware. The result is a car that radiates aggression while maintaining a refined, cohesive aesthetic. Every element contributes to its aerodynamic stance and signature presence.

Precision, Passion and Purpose

For founder Jason Engel and co-owner Jarred Morris, Scorched symbolizes the next step in classic performance design. “We’ve pushed boundaries in every direction,” said Engel. “From the carbon fiber body to the handcrafted interior, this build represents years of innovation and craftsmanship.”

Morris added, “From aerodynamics to engineering, Scorched is about more than looks, it performs like a modern supercar while keeping the Mustang spirit alive.”
