The fifth generation of Australia’s best-selling large SUV, the Toyota LandCruiser Prado, is set to arrive in dealerships later this year with significant upgrades in performance, technology, and features.

The new LandCruiser Prado boasts a range of innovations including a new platform, re-engineered powertrain with Toyota’s efficient V-Active 48V technology, and a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. Other notable improvements include electric power steering, an electric park brake, a higher maximum towing capacity, and advancements in active safety and connectivity.

- New Platform: The GA-F platform, shared with the LandCruiser 300, provides excellent response, ride, and handling both on and off-road.
- Re-engineered Powertrain: The 1GD 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque, enhanced with Toyota’s V-Active 48V technology.
- Transmission: An eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission replaces the previous six-speed unit.
- Towing Capacity: Increased by 17% to 3,500kg, supported by a new tow haul system.
