The Road to World Car 2024 marks 20th anniversary with a stop at the “L.A. Test Drives” event

The Road to the World Car 2024 is a special occasion marking the World Car Awards 20th anniversary.

The Road to World Car annually follows our 100+ journalists on the jury panel as they test-drive, and vote on, the 2024 eligible vehicles competing for awards in six categories: World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Urban Car and the World Car Design of the Year.

There are several milestone stops that mark the journey. The “L.A. Test Drives” is one of those stops.

The 9th edition of the event, November 12-15, was an outstanding success again with 44 jurors from 19 countries test-driving over 20 vehicles. Metrics captured to date show a 17% increase over last year’s impressive 32 million reach across the 4-day period.

With more than 500 individual test drives completed, our jurors drove nearly 10,000 miles during the ‘L.A. Test Drives’ alone.

The first episode capturing the 44 jurors test-driving at the event is now live on World Car TV for your viewing, sharing, and subscribing @theworldcarawards #wcoty #wcoty20 #worldcarawards

Stay tuned for the Part II and Part III episodes which will be dropped in the weeks ahead. All episodes have been produced by Siddharth (Sid) Patankar, chair, 2024 World Car Awards.

What’s next? The next stop on The Road to World Car 2024 will be at the at the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) on Monday, February 26, 2024 when the Top Three in the World finalists will be declared.

The final stop will be at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 when the winners in the six award categories will be announced.

The Road to the World Car 2024 annual journey would not be possible without the support of our official partners: AITASTIC Research & Consult AG, Brembo, the Geneva International Auto Show, KPMG, the New York International Auto Show and Newspress (official media partner). Thank you to our partners
