Škoda Elroq: Redefining Sustainable Automotive Design

The all-new Škoda Elroq is setting a new standard in sustainable automotive design with its innovative use of eco-friendly materials. Embracing the brand’s Modern Solid design language, the Elroq combines simplicity and spaciousness with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

Innovative Interior Materials: Recytitan and Technofil
The Škoda Elroq’s interior showcases cutting-edge materials like Recytitan and Technofil, reflecting the brand’s dedication to reducing its CO2 footprint. The seats and upholstery fabrics are crafted from recycled plastic bottles and, for the first time, recycled clothing. These materials are carefully reprocessed into high-quality yarns and fabrics, highlighting Škoda’s progress toward its sustainability goals.

Four Design Selections Featuring Sustainable Materials
The Elroq offers four distinct Design Selections: Studio, Loft, Lodge, and Suite. Each selection incorporates a significant proportion of sustainable materials, allowing customers to choose a configuration that aligns with their eco-conscious values.

  • Loft Design Selection: This option features Recytitan, a material made from 78% recycled PET and recycled clothing. The dark grey-blue fabric is enhanced with dark artificial leather details and yellow reflective stitching.
  • Lodge Design Selection: Showcasing Technofil, this material includes ECONYL® yarns made from regenerated nylon, such as old fishing nets and fabric scraps. The black fabric is paired with light grey artificial leather and highlighted with orange contrast stitching and matching seat belts.

Recycling and Reuse: Fabric Scraps, Fishing Nets, and Bottles
Škoda’s commitment to sustainability extends across the entire Elroq range. In the Loft Design Selection, Recytitan is used for various interior components, including door panels, seat covers, and dashboard elements. Composed of 78% recycled PET from plastic bottles and 6% mechanically recycled fibres from post-consumer clothing, Recytitan balances comfort, durability, and eco-friendliness.

The Lodge Design Selection utilizes Technofil, made of 75% recycled ECONYL® fibres and 25% polyester. This fabric repurposes nylon waste, such as fishing nets and carpet scraps, transforming them into new, high-quality nylon yarn. ECONYL® nylon is 100% regenerable, ensuring that yarns can be recycled, remoulded, and respun repeatedly without losing quality.

The Škoda Elroq represents a significant leap forward in sustainable automotive design, offering both innovation and environmental responsibility.
