Peugeot has electrified its legendary GTi badge with the all-new Peugeot E-208 GTi, revealed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Combining cutting-edge electric tech with a bold design and deep motorsport DNA, the E-208 GTi marks a thrilling new chapter for performance hot hatches.
A New GTi Generation
This all-electric GTi draws inspiration from past icons like the 205 GTi but reimagines them for today. Peugeot’s engineers and designers crafted the E-208 GTi to deliver 280 hp, 345 Nm of torque, and 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, making it the most powerful B-segment electric car.
Motorsports DNA and French Engineering
Developed by Peugeot Sport near Paris, the car benefits from racing expertise gained through WEC and the Peugeot 9X8 project. It features a 54 kWh battery, advanced cooling, and regenerative systems. A limited-slip differential integrated into the reducer boosts agility and cornering performance.
Dynamic Design with GTi Heritage
The E-208 GTi’s look stays true to GTi roots, lowered by 30 mm, with wider front and rear tracks, a front splitter, and a gloss black rear diffuser. Exclusive 18-inch wheels with cooling-friendly perforations nod to the 205 GTi. Red accents across the body, brake calipers, and cabin echo its iconic past.
Inside the Sporty Cockpit
Red seatbelts, carpets, and a central seat stripe highlight the GTi spirit. The compact Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, performance-tuned i-Cockpit, and red-themed digital cluster immerse the driver. Sport seats provide comfort and support for both road and track.
Electrified Performance
The Peugeot M4+ electric motor offers class-leading performance, supported by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and finely tuned suspension. The chassis includes specific springs, dampers, hydraulic stops, and a rear anti-roll bar.
A Sport ESP mode allows more dynamic driving, while 355 mm front discs with four-piston calipers ensure strong, consistent braking.
Everyday Usability with Premium Tech
The GTi comes fully loaded: Peugeot i-Connect, TomTom navigation, voice control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and high-end materials like Alcantara and mesh fabric.
Charging is quick, 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes on 100 kW DC. A 7.4 kW WallBox offers a full charge in 4 hours 40 minutes. Range reaches 350 km WLTP. The MyPeugeot app, Trip Planner, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) add real-life usability.
Peugeot Electric Promise
The E-208 GTi includes:
- 8-year/160,000 km vehicle and battery warranty
- Home charging WallBox included
- Free2Move pass for nearly 1 million chargers across Europe
Summary
With bold styling, thrilling performance, and true GTi spirit, the Peugeot E-208 GTi brings a new energy to the hot hatch scene. Designed for excitement and engineered with purpose, it stands ready to define the future of driving pleasure.
