Alpine has revealed the 2026 A390, a fully electric sports fastback that blends elegant design, tri-motor all-wheel drive, and French performance heritage. It marks the brand’s second model in the “Dream Garage” lineup and promises to deliver emotional driving thrills with daily practicality and sustainable engineering.

Striking exterior design inspired by performance

The Alpine A390 wears a sculpted fastback body with pronounced haunches, sharp LED triangle lighting, and active aerodynamic elements. Its coupe-like roofline, short overhangs, and rear light bar reflect the DNA of the A110, while offering a larger and more practical platform with a total of 532 liters of cargo space across front and rear compartments.

Cabin design that mixes tech and motorsport cues

Inside, the A390 cockpit is built around the driver. Two 12-inch screens provide digital instrumentation and infotainment via the Android Automotive OS, including Google Maps, Assistant, and Play. The center console houses distinctive physical buttons for performance functions, including “OV” (Overtake) and “RCH” (Recharge), both inspired by Alpine’s Formula 1 controls. Premium materials such as Alcantara and Nappa leather, plus optional carbon-fiber accents, enhance the sense of occasion.

Powertrain and all-wheel-drive performance

The Alpine A390 is built on a dedicated electric platform with a 400V, 89 kWh battery sourced from Verkor. A unique tri-motor layout (one front, two rear) provides true all-wheel drive and precision torque control. The GTS variant outputs 470 hp and 808 Nm of torque, allowing for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds. Alpine Active Torque Vectoring dynamically distributes torque between the rear wheels to sharpen agility in corners and improve grip in all conditions.

Drive modes and dynamic performance features

Five selectable drive modes—Save, Normal, Sport, Perso, and Track—adjust throttle response, steering, and torque vectoring settings. A special OV function gives the car a 10-second power boost for high-performance scenarios. The Track mode unlocks a more aggressive setup with quicker shifts in behavior, ideal for circuit driving. To enhance emotional connection, the A390 introduces Alpine Drive Sound—an interior acoustic experience that adapts to speed and throttle input. Two profiles, “Daily” and “Sport,” provide either a smooth or aggressive soundtrack that evolves with vehicle behavior. Developed with sound engineers, the system increases immersion without intrusiveness.

French manufacturing and local innovation

The A390 is built entirely in France. The Dieppe facility handles final assembly, while motors are produced in Cléon, and battery packs are assembled at Douai using Verkor cells. This localization strategy ensures high quality, reduced carbon footprint, and brand authenticity. Michelin developed custom EV tires for the A390, tuned specifically for grip, efficiency, and silence.
