Jaguar Classic Exhibit Iconic Jaguar C-Type & D-Type Models At The Dubai GP Revival

Jaguar Classic is gearing up to display its historic Jaguar C-Type and D-Type models at the second edition of the Gulf Historic Dubai Grand Prix Revival (GHDGPR) at Dubai Autodrome.

From 25-27 November 2022, classic car fans and motor enthusiasts will get a rare opportunity to get up close to two of Jaguar’s most iconic racing roadsters — while notably contributing to the festival’s celebration of motorsport’s golden age.

Jaguar C-Type: a winner for world-class performance and design

Jaguar C-Type was undoubtedly one of the most iconic cars in Jaguar’s illustrious racing history, driven by some of the most-admired drivers in history. In addition to its pioneering slippery shape, the lightweight C-Type made a record-breaking triumphant win — on its very first attempt — at the 1951 Le Mans endurance race.

What made the C-Type stand apart was its tailormade strength. The model’s unbeatable engine performance, progressive and timeless design, enduring interiors, and lastly, disk brake technology, is said to have majorly contributed to its numerous race wins.

Enthusiasts visiting the GHDGPR will be able to see up close and in person the C-Type Continuation. Valued at approximately 1.5 Million Pounds Sterling, the C-Type Continuation series has an interior that respects and references the original’s C-Type’s heritage effortlessly and effectively blending old with new. This ensures authenticity while also providing a high quality and reliable finish for owners. Hardura trim is used for the cockpit, retrimmed to a new level that wasn’t found on the original C-Type, but trimmed in silver to evoke the period item.

Jaguar D-Type: innovative with the finest engineering of its time

Alongside its C-Type predecessor, the inimitable and legendary Jaguar D-Type — representing sporting success and spectacular design leadership — will also impress visitors of the Grand Prix Revival. First built in 1954, the innovation behind the D-Type was ahead of its time, which explains its present-day value at over 1.75 million Pounds Sterling. The Longnose body was specifically designed to be made lower and shorter than the C-Type, so that it could achieve maximum speed and improved cornering capability.

As such, the D-Type became one of the most successful Jaguar racing models of all time following its outstanding record of winning Le Mans three times in a row in 1955, 1956 and 1957.

Guests will be able to admire Jaguar Classic’s D-Type Long Nose monocoque design using stressed-skin engineering which is a structural skin similar to an eggshell that bears stress and force of any kind. Such construction was generally only used in aviation.

Salman Sultan, Regional Public Relations and Product Launch Manager, commented: “We are excited to be able to display some of our most iconic Jaguar models at the Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival. This festival is truly something of a time machine that allows us to bring back our legendary C-Type and D-Type vehicles showcasing their 70 plus year legacy.

In a country and region with exceptionally high interest and passion for all things motoring, it’s a truly wonderful opportunity for us to be able to bring Jaguar fans together.

These models were some of the toughest, fastest and most desirable cars at the time, winning many notable international races. We look forward to presenting these timeless models for our customers and car lovers to appreciate from 25 through 27 November.”
