Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera Hypercar

Hispano Suiza has introduced the Carmen Sagrera, the latest addition to its range of electric hypercars, marking the brand’s 120th anniversary. This new model, showcased at Finca Mas Solers, boasts a refined design, enhanced performance, and a new 103 kWh battery.

A Tribute to Heritage and Innovation
Miguel Suqué, President of Hispano Suiza, highlighted the brand’s enduring pioneering spirit: “We still maintain the pioneering spirit that characterised my great-grandfather Damiàn Mateu and his business partner Marc Birkigt 120 years ago. This is a story of people, of cars, and of numbers, but above all, it is about people who work as a team and love a unique and challenging project—a project with a lot of soul.”

Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza, emphasized the brand’s achievements: “With the Sagrera we are consolidating in style the Carmen range that was born in 2019. We are very proud of what we have achieved in just five years. This 2024 is the year of acceleration in which we are going to conquer key markets such as the United States, complete European homologation, and celebrate our legacy.”

Unveiling with a Spectacle
The Carmen Sagrera was introduced with a light and dance show by Sol Picó, featuring a performance themed around the oriental legend of the red thread. The car was driven on stage by development driver and brand ambassador Luis Pérez Sala.

Cutting-Edge Electric Technology
The Carmen Sagrera features Hispano Suiza’s second-generation battery technology, developed and manufactured entirely in Montmeló, Barcelona. This 103 kWh battery, with improved lithium-ion cell packs, offers a driving range of 480 km, a significant upgrade from the previous 80 kWh capacity. The advanced cooling system, lighter and made from sustainable materials, enhances temperature control and efficiency.

Design and Aerodynamics
The Sagrera’s design pays homage to Hispano Suiza’s rich history. The front-end features a pointed grille inspired by the Alfonso XIII sports cars, while redesigned bonnet vents and new side sills enhance both aesthetics and functionality. A large spoiler resembling stork wings, a tribute to the brand’s logo, improves aerodynamics, and the rear panel’s design integrates copper accents for a touch of elegance.

Interior Excellence
Inside, the Carmen Sagrera exudes sportiness and exclusivity, with a redesigned center console and infotainment system. Upholstered in alcantara with black and red leather details, the interior offers comprehensive connectivity and customizable welcome messages.

Performance and Technology
Equipped with four 205 kW motors, the Sagrera delivers 1,100 hp and 1,160 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The advanced suspension system, featuring deformable parallelogram suspension and adjustable shock absorbers, ensures racing-level performance. The braking system, with single-block brake calipers and 400mm carboceramic discs, offers superior braking power and durability.

Upcoming Events
The Carmen Sagrera will make its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in mid-July, showcasing its impressive capabilities on the iconic hillclimb.
