This unveiling also marked the debut of the Genesis Electrified G80 in Korea, following its global premiere at Auto China 2024, alongside the Asian debut of the Genesis Neolun Concept, first showcased in New York.
Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis, emphasized Genesis’ commitment to delivering safety, comfort, and a distinctive driving experience, stating, “As Korea’s leading luxury brand, we will always attentively listen to the voices of our customers, ensuring their desires are our utmost priority.”
X Gran Racer VGT Concept: A Symphony of Form and Function
Derived from the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, the X Gran Racer VGT Concept is designed for the Gran Turismo digital racing game series. It boasts enhanced ground effects, featuring active aerodynamic flaps and a flat underbody design that optimize airflow and stability. The distinctive Two-Line Crest Grille lamp design extends seamlessly from front to rear, contributing to both aesthetics and performance. Aerodynamic enhancements include a larger front splitter, rear diffuser, canards on the front fascia, and an aggressive rocker panel, all aimed at enhancing high-speed stability. The mid-engine layout, elongated dash-to-axle ratio, and iconic Genesis design elements like voluminous fenders and parabolic lines create a timeless and powerful silhouette. The interior reflects Genesis’ “The Beauty of White Space” philosophy, combining minimalism with performance-focused features such as carbon fiber accents, quilted padding for comfort, and a high-performance racing yoke for intuitive control.
Performance and Powertrain
Under the hood, the X Gran Racer VGT Concept houses a front mid-mounted race-spec Lambda II V6 engine enhanced with Genesis’ electric supercharger (E-S/C) technology. This hybrid powertrain delivers an impressive total output of 1,540 horsepower and 1,051 pound-feet of torque, with the V6 engine alone producing 870 horsepower and 790 pound-feet at 10,000 RPM, complemented by the front E motor generating an additional 670 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque.
