The Encor Series 1 brings the Lotus Esprit back into focus with a modern carbon body and a renewed engineering vision. This remastered icon blends heritage and innovation, creating a precise reinterpretation shaped by a philosophy of respectful enhancement. The focus keyphrase Encor Series 1 sets the tone for a car rooted in legacy yet rebuilt for today.
Design Shaped with Intent
Encor begins with a digital scan of the original Esprit body. The team refines each highlight to deliver cleaner lines and tighter geometry. The fibreglass shell becomes a seamless carbon structure, giving the familiar wedge profile a sharper presence.

The stance gains width for improved grip and cooling. Meanwhile, compact LED projectors sit within low-profile pop-up housings. These elements retain the classic look while improving performance. Forged wheels echo the slot-mag and Sport 350 styles, adding a modern interpretation of recognised shapes.
Engineering That Respects Its Origins
The car retains the backbone chassis of the Esprit V8 for authenticity. It is stripped and restored before receiving a rebuilt powertrain. The 3.5-litre twin-turbo V8 gains forged pistons, refreshed turbochargers and upgraded cooling for modern reliability.

Power, Performance and Capability
The V8 now targets 400 bhp with 350 lb ft of torque. The car weighs under 1,200 kg, allowing a projected 0–62 mph time of four seconds and a top speed near 175 mph. A revised Quaife five-speed manual with a stronger shaft and new ratios adds precision, while AP Racing brakes handle stopping duty.

A Cabin Built with Craft and Restraint
The interior stays true to the Esprit’s original character. The sloped dashboard and deep seating position remain unchanged. Yet every surface is rebuilt with higher precision and improved ergonomics.
The billet-machined instrument cluster wraps around a modern display. Controls sit within a carbon centre structure designed for clarity and simplicity. Skyships-developed systems provide discreet infotainment and camera support without disturbing the analogue feel.

Commissioning a Modern Classic
Encor will build only 50 Series 1 examples. Each car is commissioned individually, priced from £430,000 before taxes and excluding a donor Esprit V8. Deliveries begin in 2026 and continue through 2027.

Summary
The Encor Series 1 revives the Esprit with exceptional precision. Its carbon body, rebuilt V8 and respectful design approach create a modern supercar that honours one of the most recognisable silhouettes in automotive history.
