Dodge Unveils Revolutionary Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust for Charger Daytona

Dodge has reached a new milestone with the introduction of the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, unveiled during a press conference for the Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge event. This patent-pending technology redefines the auditory experience of electric vehicles, delivering a distinctive rumble and tactile sound that will accompany the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

“The world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust brings the raw rumble of iconic Dodge muscle to the next-generation, all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona,” said Matt McAlear, CEO of Dodge – Stellantis. “We know our Dodge enthusiasts crave that visceral experience of driving a Dodge muscle car, and the Charger’s new Fratzonic system delivers the adrenaline-pumping spirit they expect. It reacts to specific inputs and driving events, creating a direct connection between the driver and their new Charger. When you hear it and feel it, you’ll know it’s a Dodge Charger Daytona.”

The Fratzonic name pays homage to Dodge’s historic Fratzog logo, now a symbol of the brand’s next-generation vehicles, prominently featured on the new Charger. The prototype of the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust was first previewed with the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept in August 2022. After extensive fine-tuning, the system now embodies the unique character of the all-new Charger.

The Charger Daytona’s Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system boasts dual high-efficiency extreme bandwidth transducers and dual Fratzonic Chamber-loaded passive radiators, all housed in a custom enclosure with a dedicated 600-watt amplifier. This setup creates a deep rumble that aligns with Dodge’s DNA, supported by four custom-designed elastomer isolator bushings for enhanced performance.

The system integrates driver inputs such as accelerator pedal position, speed, and torque output to produce the Charger Daytona’s signature performance sounds. Modes include Sport for a medium sound output, and Drag, Drift, Donut, and Track Modes for a louder roar, with a fully silent Stealth Mode available. The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust controls are accessible through the Charger Daytona’s 12.3-inch central touchscreen.

Located in the lower rear fascia, the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, marked by a Fratzonic text logo, enhances various vehicle events, including:

  • Power up/Power down
  • Idle/Rev
  • Acceleration/Throttle
  • PowerShot
  • Deceleration/E-motor regen

“Built Upon a Legacy” Video Series Launches
