Dacia Manifesto is voted ‘Concept Car Design of the Year’ by top automotive designers

The Dacia Manifesto has been named the ‘Concept Car Design of the Year’ in the annual Car Design Review, with the accolade being awarded based purely on the opinions of car design professionals.

Now on its 10th edition, the Car Design Review celebrates the best concept and production cars of the year. It is compiled by Car Design News, a popular website that is the leading source of information, advice and insight for car designers worldwide.

Unveiled last year, the striking Manifesto concept reaffirms and embodies the values that Dacia stands for. It’s essential but cool, robust, built for the outdoors and is efficient from an economic and environmental perspective. While still a concept, the Manifesto is a living lab for ideas with some of its pioneering features already seen on Dacia’s production cars.

On Dacia’s win, James McLachlan, Editor of Car Design News, said: “In the ten years of these awards, Dacia has never previously been a contender for any car category, so to win this year’s Concept Car Design of the Year award is an incredible achievement and shows just how far its design department has come.”

David Durand, Dacia Design Director, said: “The Dacia Manifesto is much more than just a concept car. It’s a laboratory of ideas that feeds our creativity for Dacia models of the future. It illustrates our brand pillars, being essential, cool, robust and eco-smart. We’re very proud to see our concept, which embodies the brand, being recognised, particularly since the results were determined by the comments and votes of some of the most-respected designers in our industry.”
