Cadillac Formula 1 Team Names Colton Herta as Test Driver

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team has announced American racer Colton Herta as its first Test Driver. Herta, a nine-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES winner, joins the team as it prepares for its 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship debut.

At 25, Herta has already built an impressive career, making his European racing debut in 2015. Competing in Euroformula Open and British F3, he secured multiple victories and podiums. Returning to the U.S., he became the youngest driver to win an INDYCAR SERIES race and pole position, achieving this at Circuit of the Americas in 2019.

Achievements and Track Record

Herta has recorded nine INDYCAR wins, 16 pole positions, and led over 1,000 laps in 116 starts. He also claimed class victories at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and an overall win at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2024. His experience in American motorsports makes him a valuable asset for Cadillac F1’s development program.
