Bugatti Delivers First Chiron Super Sports To Customers

From its initial reveal back in June 2021 following an intense, multi-year development and testing program, units of the fastest series production Bugatti hyper sports car are now rolling out of the Molsheim Atelier. All Chiron Super Sport1 build slots have now been reserved, with an extensive waiting list should any open up.

One of the first of the Chiron Super Sports to be delivered has received special treatment from Bugatti’s Sur Mesure customization program. With bespoke ‘Vagues de Lumière’ paintwork, the personalized unit is the result of close collaboration between its new owner and Bugatti’s Sur Mesure team. The intricate ‘Vagues de Lumière’ style is a true demonstration of the extent to which customers are able to make each Bugatti their own, featuring an intricate hand-painted pattern that mimics the way lights reflect off Chiron Super Sport’s curved panels.

The Chiron Super Sport is the embodiment of supreme aerodynamic efficiency. Each carbon fiber surface has been pored over by Bugatti’s team of expert designers and engineers to extract greater performance, without compromise. As such, the Chiron Super Sport’s longtail silhouette immediately distinguishes the derivative within the Chiron family. In the same way that supreme longitudinal speed has been achieved without compromise, luxury and comfort within the cabin is given equal care and attention.

Capable of effortlessly reaching speeds of up to 440 km/h, the Chiron Super Sport’s beating heart produces 1,600 PS thanks to a thoroughly overhauled version of Bugatti’s famous 8.0-liter W16 engine. Bugatti’s engineers developed and fitted larger quad-turbochargers, alongside an enhanced oil pump, cylinder head and valve train. The hyper sports car’s transmission and clutch were also adapted to the enriched powertrain.

To inspire total confidence at top speed, Bugatti worked relentlessly on the Chiron Super Sport’s chassis and suspension. Revised steering and harder springs ensure complete stability at 440 km/h, working in unison with the retuned, electronically controlled chassis. Aided by the automobile’s extended rear and modified front end, a neutral balance is maintained.

Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, commented: “It’s extremely exciting to be witnessing the first customer units of the Chiron Super Sport come together within our Atelier. Hearing brand new 8.0-liter W16 engines fire up for the first time, knowing that they are soon to become a centerpiece of our customers’ collections across the globe is a personal highlight. The experience of driving a Chiron Super Sport cannot be compared to anything else the automotive industry has to offer, and we very much look forward to our customers covering many unforgettable miles behind the wheel.”
