Bentley is set to unveil its latest automotive masterpiece, the fourth-generation Continental GT Speed, at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week this week. This prestigious event will mark the first public showing of the new Continental GT Speed, featuring bespoke elements crafted by Mulliner, Bentley’s renowned in-house personalization and coachbuilding division.
A Bespoke Creation by Mulliner
The new Continental GT Speed showcases Mulliner’s exceptional craftsmanship with a unique blend of personalized details. Bentley’s Personal Commissioning Guide offers customers the freedom to explore an extensive array of bespoke options, surpassing traditional specifications with billions of possible combinations. For Monterey Car Week, a striking orange-themed GT Speed will lead the showcase. This special edition features an Orange Flame Satin exterior, contrasting with gloss black brightware and 22” black-painted wheels with self-levelling badges. The sports exhaust and Naim for Bentley audio system further enhance its dynamic presence.
Inside, the cabin is designed with Mulliner’s Personal Commissioning Guide in mind. The interior is adorned with Gravity Grey and Brunel leathers, complemented by vibrant orange accents. Diamond Quilted areas and contrast stitching in Gravity Grey add a touch of sophistication, while Mandarin orange pinstripes and piping bring a lively contrast to the interior details.
The Continental GT Speed at Monterey Car Week
Bentley has arrived in North America with a fleet of over 30 new Continental GT Speeds, poised to embark on a nationwide dealer tour and a series of customer events. This latest evolution of the Continental GT family features Bentley’s Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a 190 PS electric motor and a 25.9 kWh battery. This setup delivers a remarkable 782 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque, enabling the Grand Tourer to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 208 mph. The GT Speed also boasts an electric-only range of 50 miles and a total range of over 500 miles, emitting only 29 g/km of CO2.
Bentley’s presence at Monterey Car Week extends beyond the new GT Speed. The Speed Six Continuation Series will make its appearance following a global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Parsons Napier Green ‘Car Zero’ will provide rides for customers, media, and VIPs throughout the week. Additionally, the Bentley Heritage Collection’s 1961 S2 Drophead Coupe, one of just 15 ever made, will be showcased after a comprehensive restoration, making its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Signature Events and Celebrations
Bentley’s iconic Friday night dinner at Seal Rock Beach returns, this year sponsored by the Bentley Environmental Foundation. The event will feature the new GT Speed coupe and Convertible alongside the S2 Drophead Coupe and Speed Six in a celebratory Guard of Honour. On Saturday night, Bentley’s Signature Party at the Beach & Tennis Club promises to be a highlight of Monterey Car Week.
The New Continental GT Speed: Performance and Luxury Redefined
The fourth-generation Continental GT Speed continues Bentley’s tradition of blending supercar performance with handcrafted luxury. The redesign introduces a modern aesthetic with clean detailing, reflecting the design language established by the coachbuilt Bentley Bacalar and Batur. The Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain delivers unprecedented performance and efficiency, supported by a new chassis system with two-chamber air springs, dual-valve dampers, Bentley Dynamic Ride, and torque vectoring. The new model offers exceptional ride comfort and dynamic body control, with a rear-biased weight distribution for the first time in the car’s history.
The new Continental GT Speed also features significant updates in technology, including advanced driver assistance, infotainment systems, and connected car services. The exterior design marks the most significant change in two decades, with single headlamps and a refreshed front design. The interior continues Bentley’s tradition of excellence with new wellness seat technology, air ionization, and luxurious materials.
For the first time, the Continental GTC Convertible will launch concurrently with the coupe, offering customers the choice of open-top motoring alongside the traditional closed-roof experience. Both models will be handcrafted at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, with production slated to begin in late Q3 and deliveries starting in Q4.
