All-New Lexus LX Australian Specifications Confirmed

All-New Lexus LX Australian Specifications Confirmed

Australian specifications for the all-new Lexus LX have been confirmed, providing customers with the luxury of choice when the next-generation flagship SUV arrives in April, 2022.

The Lexus flagship SUV range will be offered with advanced twin-turbocharged V6 engines including LX 500d diesel and LX 600 petrol models, the first-ever F Sport and Ultra Luxury grades, and the availability of three seating configurations.

The range includes LX 500d and LX 600 seven-seat variants, LX 500d F Sport and LX 600 F Sport five-seat variants, LX 500d Sports Luxury and LX 600 Sports Luxury five-seat variants, and the flagship LX 600 Ultra Luxury four-seat variant.

All-new, across-the-range technologies include the human-centred Tazuna cockpit concept with dual centre screens, “Hey Lexus!” natural speech recognition, a BladeScan™1 adaptive high-beam system and a 25-speaker Mark Levinson®1 Premium Surround Sound System – the most comprehensive in any Lexus. Also available on selected grades is Lexus-debut fingerprint identification for engine start.

An unsurpassed ownership experience continues with a three-year membership to the leading Lexus Encore Platinum owner benefits program2 – including the pioneering Lexus on Demand, where members can borrow another Lexus to suit their needs or when travelling interstate or to New Zealand on four occasions, for up to eight days3. Members are also provided with eight valet parking passes to use at select Westfield shopping centres and Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne4.

The LX 600 Ultra Luxury becomes the new range flagship, combining the acclaimed Lexus LS-derived 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine – offering 305kW of power and 650Nm of torque – with an opulent, exclusive four-seat cabin layout.

Independent, electrically adjustable and heated/ventilated second-row seats deliver 860mm of legroom, a seatback with up to 48-degree recline, an independently adjustable ottoman with two-position memory, and a five-stage massage function.

All seat functions, rear wireless smartphone charging5, and controls for the four-zone climate control and twin 11.6-inch rear displays – with HDMI, Miracast or Wi-Fi compatibility – are accessed through the centrally located rear control panel.

Walnut brown ornamentation and sumptuous leather upholstery – available in new Sunflare trim6 – further complement the stylish and opulent Ultra Luxury interior.

The LX F Sport and LX Sports Luxury grades add a fifth seat and the option of an advanced 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine delivering 227kW and 700Nm.

F Sport and Sports Luxury highlights shared with the Ultra Luxury include front and rear-outboard seat heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, centre console-mounted cool box, a digital rear-view mirror, soft-close doors and Lexus-debut fingerprint identification for the engine start button – where up to 10 fingerprints can be registered to authorise engine start, and link to seat and mirror memory settings.

The F Sport raises the presence of the all-new Lexus LX with a prominent jet-black grille featuring a mesh pattern and a black-plated grille frame. Satin-plated moulding is featured across the front and rear of the vehicle, and standard are 22-inch forged alloy wheels – the largest-ever on an LX.

The F Sport continues a focused, dynamic theme inside with Hadori aluminium ornamentation, aluminium pedals and scuff plates, perforated leather-accented steering wheel and gearshifter, and sports seats with exclusive upholstery colours.

The F Sport delivers the sharpest focus on the Lexus Driving Signature, featuring a rear Torsen®1 limited-slip differential, front and rear performance dampers (bracing), Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and a unique electric power steering tune.

The Sports Luxury evokes dignified sophistication with unique 22-inch forged alloy wheels and a powerful spindle grille composed of floating lateral bars that form a 3D shape – shared with all non-F Sport model grades.

It progresses even further the incredible craftsmanship for which the LX is renowned, debuting ‘Takanoha’ ornamentation hand-crafted by the famous Lexus Takumi.

‘Takanoha’ ornamentation uses a three-layer wooden mosaic technique to create an impression reminiscent of hawk feathers, where the veneer is shaved three times while changing the shaving angle to deliver the intricate pattern.

The Sports Luxury also shares the twin 11.6-inch rear screens with the Ultra Luxury.

Opening the extensive Lexus flagship SUV range, the LX 500d and LX 600 feature 20-inch alloy wheels, seven seats with power adjustable third-row, and tri-beam LED headlamps with the innovative BladeScan™1 adaptive high-beam system (AHS).

BladeScan™1 AHS uses a spinning blade mirror to selectively illuminate the road ahead, with the LED system broadening the range of high-beam illumination without impeding the visibility of the proceeding driver or of drivers approaching from the opposite direction.

LX 600 and LX 500d specification highlights include four-zone climate control with NanoeX™1, leather-accented seats with Shimamoku wood ornamentation, 10-way driver and 8-way front passenger seat power adjustment, heated front seats and the incredible 25-speaker Mark Levinson®1 Premium Surround Sound System.

The all-new LX is the second Lexus, following the all-new NX, to debut the human-centric Tazuna cockpit concept – which is inspired by a rider controlling the reins of a horse and ensures that commands are placed within intuitive reach.

Every all-new Lexus LX includes a suite of advanced infotainment technologies featuring two central screens – a 12.3-inch touch-display and 7.0-inch display – complemented by an 8.0-inch driver display and a colour head-up display (HUD).

Every LX also includes voice control with “Hey Lexus!” natural speech recognition, DAB+ digital radio7, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay®8 and Android Auto™9 compatibility and wireless smartphone charging5.

The advanced Lexus Safety System+ technology suite includes: a pre-collision system with pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection, front and rear parking support brake (PKSB) with obstacle and vehicle detection, blind-spot monitor (BSM), dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), lane tracing assist (LTA), road sign assist (RSA) and a tyre pressure warning monitor10.

New across-the-range safety technologies include LX-first intersection turn assist, which can issue warnings and automatic braking if, at an intersection, the car turns in front of either an oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane, or pedestrians walking in the opposite direction of the vehicle10.

LX-first emergency steering assist also works to aid the driver when executing an evasive steering manoeuvre by helping to maintain vehicle stability and keeping the vehicle in its lane10.

Other state-of-the-art new technologies include Lexus Connected Services11, which includes automatic collision notification12, stolen vehicle tracking13 and SOS call14 functionality for maximum safety and security.

Every all-new LX also utilises four cameras placed around the vehicle to provide unobstructed views of the vehicle surrounds, clearly identifying potential hazards. The multi-terrain monitor can offer front, rear, panoramic and even ‘see-through’ views, which displays a transparent image of the vehicle’s body, allowing the driver to view areas around and underneath the vehicle that cannot be seen directly10.

The LX also advances the flagship SUV’s reputation for significant off-road capability with Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow and Rock modes, and active control (AHC) suspension with Normal, High 1 and High 2 settings for maximum ease over a broad range of surfaces10.

Both LX 500d and LX 600 powertrains use a full-time all-wheel-drive system, with power channelled through a 10-speed automatic transmission with a low-range transfer case.

A trailer wiring harness with towing hitch is fitted to all grades, helping to make the most of the LX’s effortless 3500kg braked towing capacity15.

Utilising an all-new Global Architecture-F (GA-F) platform, the LX improves torsional rigidity by 20 per cent while reducing weight by up to 110kg and improving front-to-rear weight distribution by moving the engine 28mm down and 70mm rearward.

Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas said the all-new LX sets new standards in craftsmanship, refinement and capability among flagship SUVs.

“The all-new LX joins our LC sports car and LS flagship sedan within the incredible Lexus L Series range, representing the pinnacle of Takumi craftsmanship, exhilarating performance and imaginative technology,” Mr Pappas said.

“With the strength of twin-turbocharged powertrains, new F Sport and Ultra Luxury grades, multiple seating configurations and the exclusive Encore Platinum owner benefits program, the new-generation LX offers breathtaking luxury and capability.”
