In Jarrell, Texas, Cimtex Rods has taken a classic 1958 Apache to new s with a stunning custom build. This lifted truck, fitted with 37-inch tires and powered by a Chevrolet Performance LT4 crate engine, showcases the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern muscle.
The project, overseen by Cimtex Rods co-owner Darrell Cimbanin, was brought to life for Marvin DuBose, whose Apache has been a cherished vehicle in his family for years. The build, initially starting with a lower-than-stock ride , quickly transformed into a major project thanks to the Roadster Shop’s RS4 lifted truck chassis, paired with the LT4 engine and 4.56 gears.
The LT4 crate engine, renowned for its supercharged 6.2L V8 producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, is a standout feature. Its advanced components, including a cast-aluminum block and Rotocast aluminum cylinder heads, deliver both power and reliability. Complemented by a SuperMatic 8L90-E eight-speed automatic transmission, this setup ensures impressive performance and smooth operation.
The Roadster Shop RS4 chassis, lifted four inches, integrates seamlessly with the Apache’s body, featuring modern suspension elements like Fox shocks and Wilwood brakes with 14-inch rotors and six-piston calipers. Cimtex Rods retained the truck’s original body while updating the bed and enhancing the vehicle’s aesthetics with a custom goldish-tan paint, blacked-out chrome accents, and a refreshed interior with leather, Dakota Digital gauges, and modern amenities.
