BMW Autumn 2025 updates are not about big overhauls, but rather about fine-tuning powertrains, design options, and everyday usability. Several models receive stronger petrol engines, while efficiency improves at the same time. Alongside these changes, new colours, interior upgrades, and smarter Connected Drive functions join the lineup.
More power and efficiency for BMW M models
The BMW M240i xDrive Coupé headlines the changes with a stronger version of the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine. This same unit now powers the BMW M340i xDrive Sedan, Touring, and the BMW M440i family. Output rises to 288 kW (392 hp) with the help of a mild hybrid system. Torque climbs to 540 Nm, making acceleration even sharper.
Performance gains are small but noticeable. The M340i xDrive Sedan now accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, trimming 0.1 seconds from before. The M240i xDrive Coupé matches this upgraded setup, combining strong performance with lower fuel use.
Reduced fuel consumption and emissions
BMW’s revisions aim not only at stronger performance but also at better efficiency. For example, the M240i xDrive Coupé now consumes 8.0 litres per 100 km, down from 8.8. Emissions fall to 183 g/km, a meaningful cut from the earlier 200 g/km. Similar improvements are seen across the 3 Series and 4 Series models equipped with this engine.
Fresh options for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé
Buyers of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will soon be able to select Cape York Green, a colour previously unavailable for this model. This option can be ordered with M Sport trim levels, giving more visual variety.
Lighting upgrades for BMW 4 Series and BMW i4
Adaptive LED Headlights will gain an upgrade for the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé and BMW i4. These headlights will now include laser rear lights, delivering a more distinctive design and enhanced safety. They can also be ordered as an individual option without the full M Sport package.
Interior refinements for BMW X3
Inside the BMW X3, the use of Veganza and Merino upholstery extends further. Rear headrests and side seat sections now come in the same colour as the rest of the cabin, adding a more consistent premium feel.
Practical touches for the BMW 5 Series family
From autumn 2025, the BMW 5 Series, i5, and M5 models will gain a simple but useful addition. A coat hook on the B-pillar trim will come as standard, making it easier to store jackets during journeys.
BMW Connected Drive improvements
The BMW My App will see updates that make charging simpler for electric models. A new Charging Guide explains the best ways to charge, plan stops, and optimise usage. BMW Maps also expands charge-optimised route planning to more countries, including Bulgaria, Greece, and Singapore.
Performance highlights
The most notable figures come from the updated six-cylinder engine. With 392 hp and 540 Nm of torque, BMW’s entry-level M models are now faster and more efficient. Each of these vehicles accelerates slightly quicker than before while producing lower emissions.
Summary
BMW Autumn 2025 updates bring together a mix of performance boosts, design options, and everyday enhancements. The M240i, 3 Series, and 4 Series now have more powerful and efficient engines. Alongside these changes, models such as the 2 Series Gran Coupé, X3, and 5 Series family receive practical or stylish upgrades, while Connected Drive adds smarter tools. The result is a model lineup that evolves without drastic changes, sharpening BMW’s offering for the season ahead.
