He eventually claimed the car in the 1940s. The car was later found in a copse. It was discovered to be in a significantly weathered state. However, it was still largely complete. The original instrumentation was even intact.

In 1979, the car found a new owner. Francis C. Annett, a known Delage expert, bought it. He started an ambitious restoration project. Invoices and documentation are on file.
