HELLA Pikes Peak Porsche efforts are heating up as the iconic brand heads into the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with two high-performance Porsche entries and a series of special awards. Backed by a legacy of engineering excellence, HELLA is putting its name on the mountain in more ways than one.
Porsche GT3 RS Leads the HELLA Attack
Veteran racer Robb Holland will pilot a HELLA-liveried 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Cup car in the Time Attack 1 Division. This Rotek Racing-prepared machine keeps close to its original setup, save for JRZ active dampers to handle the mountain’s rough terrain and a Starlink datalink to livestream his run.
Holland brings experience and confidence, having first raced at Pikes Peak in 2016 and set a front-wheel-drive record. This year, he aims to conquer the 14,115-foot climb in pursuit of the HELLA Time Attack 1 trophy. His real-time livestream may also set a new standard in fan engagement.
Cayman GT4 RS Backs Up the Mission
HELLA’s second entry, a 2023 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, will be driven by Pikes Peak legend Clint Vahsholtz. With over two decades of Hill Climb success, including 24 class wins, Vahsholtz brings deep experience to the challenge.
The GT4 RS arrives with championship-winning credentials, having taken top honors in both Pirelli GT America and GT4 America series. Now, it’s prepped to chase the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama under the HELLA banner.
More Than Just Racing: HELLA’s Awards Program
Beyond the cars, HELLA’s involvement stretches to community and tradition. As sponsor of the 2025 Time Attack 1 Division, the brand will award trophies to top finishers across a diverse range of vehicles including Porsche GT3 RS, GT2 RS Clubsport, Subaru WRX STI, and more.
In addition, HELLA will introduce two fan-favorite awards. The HELLA Hype Award invites the public to vote for their favorite driver, with the winner announced during Fan Fest on June 20. The prize includes a trophy and $2,000 cash.
Meanwhile, the HELLA Heritage Award goes to the driver with the most career finishes at Pikes Peak. This special nod honors dedication to one of motorsport’s most grueling events. The award also carries a $2,000 cash prize and will be presented during the trophy ceremony.
A Legacy of Performance and Innovation
Robert Tinson, HELLA’s Vice President, emphasized the alignment between HELLA and the spirit of Pikes Peak. Celebrating over 125 years of technical leadership, HELLA continues to push boundaries from lighting and braking to motorsports.
By supporting top-tier talent and recognizing standout competitors, HELLA reinforces its commitment to performance, innovation, and the culture that surrounds racing’s most legendary events.
Summary
From the thunder of the GT3 RS to the grip of the GT4 RS, HELLA’s 2025 Pikes Peak effort blends engineering heritage with future-facing energy. With iconic drivers, high-stakes competition, and community-focused awards, HELLA brings more than horsepower, it brings heart to the Hill Climb.
