Ariel Motor Company, renowned for its ultra-lightweight vehicles, has launched the second-generation Ariel Nomad, aptly named the Nomad 2. This all-new model is designed to deliver unparalleled performance on both road and off-road terrains, embodying Ariel’s core value of “SERIOUS FUN.”
Key Features of the Nomad 2
- Engine: The Nomad 2 boasts a new Ford 2.3-litre, 4-cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged engine, offering up to 305bhp and 518Nm of torque. It includes a switchable ECU with three engine maps, providing optimal performance for various driving conditions.
- Chassis: Featuring an all-new tubular chassis with larger diameter tubes, the Nomad 2 offers a 60% increase in torsional stiffness compared to its predecessor. This ensures a robust and safe structure with built-in roll-over protection.
- Suspension and Brakes: The Nomad 2 is equipped with double unequal length wishbones, outboard dampers, and a revised steering geometry. The braking system has been enhanced by 40% over the original Nomad, with optional AP four-piston calipers and 290mm vented discs.
- Body and Aerodynamics: The bodywork combines toughened polyethylene and composite materials, designed for durability in harsh conditions. The raised intake snorkel ensures clean air intake, while the aerodynamic design improves overall performance.
- Driver Aids: The Nomad 2 features fully selectable driver aids, including a three-stage engine map controller, adjustable launch and traction control, and an adjustable ABS system, all accessible on the move.

The Ariel Nomad 2 is priced at £56,660 + VAT in the UK. Production is set to begin alongside other Ariel models, including the Atom 4 and Dash e-bike.
