The 2026 Lexus RZ builds on the brand’s electric ambitions with smarter charging, more range, and a broader network of fast chargers. The new model not only enhances convenience for drivers but also extends new benefits to owners of earlier RZ models through expanded compatibility and support features.
Broader Access to Fast Charging Networks
Starting this month, the 2026 Lexus RZ will give drivers access to more than 25,000 new charging plugs across North America through the Tesla Supercharger Network. This integration, using the SAE J3400 North American Charging System (NACS), marks a major step forward for Lexus’s EV accessibility and convenience strategy.
Beyond Tesla’s network, Lexus RZ owners can still connect to popular DC fast chargers such as IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo. Using the Lexus app, drivers can locate compatible stations and manage their charging seamlessly. This wide accessibility ensures that the RZ remains a practical long-distance electric SUV, wherever the road leads.

Plug & Charge Capability
The 2026 RZ introduces Plug & Charge functionality, simplifying the charging process to a single step. After a one-time setup in the Lexus app, drivers can start charging simply by plugging in, no cards, no extra steps. Tesla’s Supercharger network will be the first to support this feature, with IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo expected to follow.
According to Shawn Domeracki, vice president of Lexus Sales and Dealer Development, the goal is to provide an effortless experience for every Lexus BEV driver. “We put our Lexus guests first in everything we do,” he noted, emphasizing the company’s focus on convenience and user satisfaction.
Upgraded Convenience for Existing RZ Owners
To ensure current drivers benefit as well, Lexus will offer complimentary NACS charging adapters for 2023–2025 RZ owners. These adapters, distributed through Lexus dealers, will allow access to the same SAE J3400 charging plugs as the 2026 model. Built to Lexus Genuine Accessories standards, they maintain quality, durability, and warranty assurance.
All 2026 RZ models will also include adapters for SAE J1772 and CCS stations, ensuring backward compatibility and charging flexibility wherever drivers go.
Apple Maps EV Routing Support
Lexus continues to expand the BEV ecosystem with Apple Maps EV Routing. Integrated through Apple CarPlay, this system can calculate routes using live vehicle data, factoring in battery performance, terrain, and charger availability. Available for all 2023 and newer RZ models, it provides a smarter and more intuitive navigation experience for iPhone users.

Performance, Range, and Efficiency
The 2026 Lexus RZ doesn’t stop at convenience. It offers more power, improved efficiency, and enhanced range compared to earlier versions. Shorter charging times and intelligent energy management make it a stronger contender in the premium electric SUV segment. This evolution reinforces Lexus’s commitment to performance without compromise.
Summary
With faster charging, expanded networks, and connected smart features, the 2026 Lexus RZ represents a confident step forward in Lexus’s electric journey. By extending key benefits to existing owners and integrating advanced software and hardware systems, Lexus continues shaping a luxury EV experience built on innovation and convenience.
