2015 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster Sets New Online Auction Record

A 2015 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has become the most valuable car ever sold via an online-only auction, fetching US$6,000,000 on the SBX Cars platform last week. This sale breaks the previous record set by a 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, which sold for US$5,360,000 in 2022.

About the Veneno Roadster
The Veneno Roadster, one of only nine in existence, was previously owned by a Saudi royal. It features a 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 750 PS / 552 kW / 740 HP, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 355 km/h. The car is finished in matt black with lime green and black leather interior, complemented by lime-green pinstriping on the exterior.

Developed to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno Roadster was unveiled on the Italian naval aircraft carrier Nave Cavour in 2013. The SBX Cars example, the second to leave Sant’Agata, was in nearly new condition with only 1,778 kilometers on the odometer.

SBX Cars: A New Player in the Auction World
SBX Cars, a new auction platform, has quickly gained traction, registering thousands of global bidders from over 40 countries and selling cars to various locations including the US, Mexico, Dubai, Kuwait, Germany, and Hong Kong. SBX Cars also announced the exclusive auction of the Lotus Black&Gold Collection, the largest collection of Lotus historic cars, set for September.
